Chosun University (President: Kim Chun-sung) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 12th at the university’s main administration building with 1.5℃ Forum (Chairman: Choi Yong-guk), a think tank focused on climate crisis response and carbon neutrality, and GRICO (CEO: Park Jae-min), a company specializing in the production and distribution of eco-friendly biodegradable plastic products.
The agreement was established based on mutual respect and trust among the three organizations to promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management within universities and to realize Chosun University’s “Plastic Zero” carbon neutrality initiative through the production and distribution of eco-friendly biodegradable plastic products utilizing agricultural, fisheries, and waste by-products generated on campus and within the local community.

Chosun University, 1.5℃ Forum, and GRICO agreed to cooperate in the following areas:
Kim Chun-sung stated,
“We will make efforts to discover Plastic Zero and carbon neutrality-linked projects and promote industry-academia cooperation for the efficient utilization of resources and sustainable development in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions. We will further strengthen cooperation between the university and local companies with the goal of realizing carbon neutrality and expanding ESG management for a sustainable regional future.”
Choi Yong-guk emphasized,
“Based on mutual respect and trust among Chosun University, the 1.5℃ Forum, and GRICO, we will respect the matters and regulations specified in this agreement according to the principles of good faith and sincerity while maintaining a cooperative relationship. We will actively contribute to the expansion of ESG management at Chosun University through the formation of consultative bodies, business discussions, and meetings to ensure the smooth implementation of this agreement.”
